COVID-19: Letter to Parishioners – March 16, 2020

Dear St. George’s Parishioners:

First of all, we hope that you and your families are all keeping healthy.  It’s disappointing that everyone cannot get together at this time, but we want us all to think about how we can best support each other.

Then, please let either Nigel or Jan know if you find yourself ill or quarantined, or if you need something.

Nigel:  519-822-0276 or 519-651-7749 or [email protected]

Jan: 289-828-1232 or [email protected]

It would be a good idea to arrange a buddy system with a friend or neighbour so that if either of you need food or other supplies, you have someone who could get the things that you need.  In that case, be especially careful about delivery.  A good plan might be to leave the goods at the person’s door, and then phone to say that it’s there.  That way you would not have to interact in person.

We will try to keep active on our Facebook page.  This will be our primary way of keeping you up to date.  As long as the two of us are able to get together at the church office, we will post the weekly homily on Facebook and our Website. Please offer suggestions about what else you would like to see posted. For those not on Facebook, we will set up a temporary new page on the website for important announcements. Please check one of these regularly.

We (Jan and Nigel) both watched Bishop Susan’s broadcast on Facebook (@Anglican Diocese of Niagara under videos, or at https://www.facebook.com/niagaraanglican/videos/523610221677739/) on Sunday morning, March 15.  It is still available (as is Nigel’s homily for March 15),   We both liked Bishop Susan’s homily.  As long as churches remain closed, Bishop Susan will live-stream a service on Facebook each Sunday at 10 am.

Meanwhile, every blessing to each of you.  Stay healthy, and let’s hope we can all meet again in person soon.  Nigel and Michelle are making sure to go out for a walk each day, for our physical and mental well-being.

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Your brother and sister in Christ,
